City Engineer Scott Otto, P.E., and his engineering team monitor and analyze the condition of the City’s infrastructure for areas in need of repair and/or upgrades.

The Engineering Division researches, investigates, and responds to citizen inquiries, prepares technical analyses, and provides municipal engineering advice pertaining to the design and construction of infrastructure improvements.

In addition, the staff prepares civil engineering design drawings and specifications as well as performs technical design reviews of plans for public infrastructure improvement projects that are prepared by contracted engineering firms.

The Engineering Division provides project management, field inspections, and general surveying for all publicly funded infrastructure improvement projects to ensure quality construction.

The Engineering Division provides engineering reviews of public infrastructure improvement plans to ensure that residential, commercial, and industrial developments follow City design standards. After the development is approved and construction begins, the Engineering Division conducts regular field inspections to verify that construction is proceeding according to the approved plans.
