A Message from Chief John A. Jones:

Welcome to the City of Oxford Division of Police.  We are a 24-hour service agency that is an integral part of developing and maintaining a safe and secure community through the collaborative efforts of many departments and community organizations.

Our Division proudly provides a wide range of police services and programs to residents, visitors, and members of the business community. We are staffed by sworn officers who are professionally trained and certified by the State of Ohio as well as civilian staff who provide other support to the division’s operations.

Our mission and values are a reflection of our commitment to a welcoming community and guide our agency’s pursuit of professional excellence.

The Chief of Police is the chief executive officer for the division and is responsible for the planning and research functions, preparation of the division’s budget, supervising internal expenditures, and the overall administration of the selection of personnel. The division is further divided into two sections: operations and support, each supervised by a lieutenant who reports directly to the chief.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of my staff with questions or requests for assistance.
