Residential Trash Pickup

Rumpke, Inc. collects garbage from non-dumpster customers on designated pickup days every week. The City of Oxford charges for this service and the charge appears on the utility bill. The service costs are outlined in the Annual Fee Ordinance.

Download the Refuse Map to find your pickup day.

Pickup Guidelines

According to the Oxford City Code, all garbage is to be placed in covered containers which are constructed to be:

  • strong
  • not easily corrodible
  • rodent-proof
  • a capacity of not more than 32 gallons or weighing more than 60 lbs. loaded, in a wheeled, lidded totes, or in dumpster containers

All such containers must have tight-fitting lids. As a result, garbage bags that are not in such a container are not a legal method of disposing of garbage. Your container cannot weigh more than 60 lbs. If it rains, dump the water out.

Time Limits

Trash cans cannot be placed at the curb more than 24 hours before scheduled collection and must be removed within 24 hours after collection. Contact the Utility Department at (513) 524-5221 when trash or recycling is not collected on the designated pickup day.

Commercial Trash Pickup

Rumpke collects commercial refuse and trash under contract with the City of Oxford. Any commercial waste wheeler or dumpster request or change can be made through the City of Oxford Utility Department by calling (513) 524-5221.

One-time permit stickers can be obtained from the Utility Department at 15 South College Avenue. Items with these stickers on them should be placed beside a regular commercial refuse container.
