Short-Term Rental Registration

About this form

On April 16, 2019 City Council adopted an ordinance requiring all short-term rentals to be registered with the City. A short-term rental is a dwelling unit that is rented, leased, or otherwise assigned for tenancy of less than 14 consecutive days duration for any single stay. If the unit is rented out at any time for a stay/tenancy lasting 14 or more consecutive days, the property owner must also apply for a long-term rental permit.

The purpose of the registration program is for the City administration to gain a more accurate understanding of the magnitude and extent of short-term rentals operating within Oxford. Details captured by this program, including addresses as well as answers to a few other critical questions, should help to better inform future policies and standards affecting short-term rentals. The most recent Findings Report was presented to City Council on September 3, 2019.

  • The deadline to register an existing short-term rental, using the online form below, is August 16, 2019.
  • New short-term rentals established after August 16, 2019 must register prior to renting to guests.
  • If you rent more than one short-term rental in Oxford, a separate online form must be submitted for each address.
