Western Knolls Design Charrette Results

Friday, June 5, 2020

The City of Oxford has released a publication documenting the results of the City’s Second Annual World Town Planning Day event held on November 13, 2019. A charrette is a planning intensive event designed to solicit design concepts from participants. The focus of the 2019 charrette was the 47-acre “Western Knolls” site located off Oxford-Reily and Brookville Roads, situated next to the existing Western Knolls subdivision. The City had purchased the land from Western Knolls Inc. in December 2008 as part of a legal settlement, and has remained the owner ever since. A group of 28 participants split into 5 teams and produced 5 different development concepts for the site. These concepts could in turn serve as a guide for any future development proposals; at this time, there is nothing formally submitted or being considered by the City.
