Oxford Climate Action Workshop

Thursday, June 20, 2019 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm

Climate Action Workshop

Join the City of Oxford Climate Action Task Force to explore how our community can reduce emissions for a more sustainable future. The City of Oxford, like Miami University, is evaluating the feasibility of making a public commitment to significant emissions reductions. This task force was created by City Council to promote community engagement and collaboration around this important issue. Members of the public and key stakeholders are invited to participate, bringing their best thinking about how our small city can do its part to respond to this global challenge.

The meeting will include:

  • A brief overview of the global climate challenge, the role of cities, and best practices in local climate action (including formal commitments like the Global Covenant of Mayors)
  • A discussion of steps the City of Oxford has already taken to limit emissions
  • Breakout discussions where participants can share progress and identify opportunities for further reductions in key sectors like building and energy, transportation, waste, and land management.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend. For more information contact David Prytherch at dprytherch@cityofoxford.org.
