Spring/Summer 2021 Jobs
$9.50/hour; Must be at least 16 years old. Concessions workers prepare and serve food, operate POS systems, maintain clean work environment and provide customer service. Must have a flexible schedule with availability evenings and weekends. Concessions employees work at the Oxford Community Park concessions stand, aquatic center concessions stand, aquatic center admissions gate, as well as a slide attendant. Some opportunities begin mid-April, while additional opportunities begin in mid-May.
$10.50/hour; Must be at least 18 years old. Concession supervisors train and supervise concession employees, manage inventory, order products, prepare staff schedules, maintain clean work environment & provide customer service. Supervisors will be required to complete an online Food Safety certification course. Work locations include the Oxford Community Park and Oxford Aquatic Center.
Lifeguards (Aquatic Center)
$10.00 per hour; Must be at least 15 years old. Certification is required. Miami University, as well as many YMCA locations, offer certification courses. Certifications can be obtained via American Red Cross, YMCA, SwimSafe or other accredited lifeguard agency. Lifeguards will receive additional facility-specific training at the Oxford Aquatic Center at the start of the season, as well as routinely during the season. Pool season is scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Flexible schedules required, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Shirts and suits are provided.
$11.00 per hour; Must be at least 18 years old. Lifeguard supervisors train and supervise other lifeguards, manage the aquatic center operations, ensure a safe facility for guests, enforce rules of the facility, and respond to incident/accidents as they occur. Supervisors are required to maintain a positive, public image and interact regularly with guests.
Water Safety Instructors
$11.00 per hour; Must be at least 18 years old. Water Safety Instructors will have, or obtain prior to employment, an appropriate Water Safety Instructor certification to oversee American Red Cross swim lessons. The water safety instructor will also work as a lifeguard when not supervising swim lessons.
Summer Camp Supervisors
$11.00 per hour; Must be at least 18 years old. Camp supervisors are responsible for the daily implementation of summer camp POP! program. Also supervises camp leaders, prepares staff schedules, communicates regularly with parents/guardians and maintains a positive, public image. Previous camp experience is preferred. Camp POP! will be held at the Oxford Aquatic Center as well as the TRI Community Center.
Summer Camp Leaders
$10.00 per hour; Preferred age at least 18 years old. Camp leaders supervise & engage camp kids and plan daily or weekly activities. Experience with children preferred. Must possess or obtain prior to employment proper First Aid, CPR and AED training.
Want to earn more? Camp leaders whom also possess a valid Lifeguard certification and work at the Aquatic Center will be paid $10.50 per hour for all shifts worked, both for camp and aquatic center.
This program is for upcoming 7th-9th grade students to volunteer over the summer. Volunteers will earn hours/credits which can be converted to pay for a variety of OPRD programs & activities.
Volunteers may work 1-2 shifts per week, up to 5 hours per shift. The responsibilities will include a well-round experience assisting with summer camp, concessions and aquatic center operations.
