HSI First Aid, CPR, & AED Courses
Early CPR and defibrillation are one of the best predictors of survival of cardiac arrest. Help us save lives! Learn CPR!
The City of Oxford Fire Department offers First Aid, CPR AED, and other courses as an HSI Training Center. We have scheduled eight courses for 2026: one Adult First Aid | CPR AED for All Ages, one Pediatric First Aid | CPR AED for All Ages, and six CPR AED for All Ages.
The First Aid courses will teach you how to assess and treat both minor and major injuries in the described age groups, while all courses will help you to recognize signs of respiratory and cardiac arrest, and how to begin treatment of a victim, regardless of age.
Upon successful completion of one of these courses, you will be issued a digital certification, which is valid for 2 years.
Courses will be held** at the Oxford Fire Station, located at 217 South Elm Street, on the following dates in 2026:

*One-hour lunch break not included in training time.
A minimum of 5 attendees is required to hold any course. Any course with too few sign-ups ten days prior to the start will be canceled. We can accommodate up to 12 students per course.

- Residents of Oxford or Oxford Township; Employees and Volunteers of Oxford or Oxford Township Businesses or Organizations = $40
- All others = $50
ACS Stop the Bleed Courses
A severe bleeding injury can happen to anyone, at any time. Join the millions worldwide who are trained to control bleeding!
Uncontrolled hemorrhage can end a life in a matter of minutes. In this approximately 90-minute course, you will learn recognition and management of life-threatening bleeding. Blending presented material and hands-on practice, this course is designed for all who are willing and able to react in the presence of severe bleeding, regardless of experience or lack thereof.
The City of Oxford Fire Department offers the American College of Surgeons Stop the Bleed courses. This course is provided free-of-charge and has no minimum registration.
[Content Warning: Bleeding emergencies can be graphic and disturbing. Therefore, this course utilizes images of simulated life-threatening bleeding which, while potentially upsetting, are meant to prepare the learner for what they might encounter.]
