Automatic payment with a credit card or bank account can be signed up for through the Smartbill payment website. The City can also process autopayments internally as an ACH with bank account information.
- Yes, you will receive the same bill card as you do now, with a notation that a Credit Card or Debit Account plan is in effect. You will be sent the bill on the first working day of the month.
- The charge will appear on your next credit card statement or on your debit account statement. You will be contacted by the City if there is a problem with processing your charge. If you have auto pay set up through the Smartbill System, you will be notified through that system if there are payment issues.
- Yes. Go online to your Smartbill Portal and remove your autopay information or provide the City with a written notice of cancellation at least three working days prior to the bill due date.

- When checking the box on the application to be processed as a NAME CHANGE, you agree to take over responsibility for any unpaid balance or unbilled usage accumulated on the current account. Taking over the account via name change does NOT incur the $50 account initiation fee. (Not applicable on new construction or inactive accounts).
- When filling out an application solely as a NEW ACCOUNT, you DO NOT take over responsibility for any unpaid balance or unbilled usage. The account starts new and incurs the $50 account initiation fee on the first bill.
