Rental residences in Oxford have a long tradition of house signs. A house sign (also referred to as a "building identification" sign) does not require a permit, but some regulations do apply per Section 1151.05(e)(2) of the Oxford Zoning Code. The pertinent regulations are outlined below.

No more than 1 wall sign per principal structure:

  • No more than 6 square feet in area.
  • Attached between 4 and 18 feet above the adjacent ground.
  • The sign shall be naturally illuminated only.
