Annual Street Resurfacing to Begin - UPDATED
The City of Oxford’s annual Street Resurfacing program will begin in the 2018 construction season.
Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. won the 2017 competitive bid for the project. Necessary curb, gutter, sidewalk, and driveway apron work has been completed ahead of this start date. City streets to be resurfaced include: Locust Street from Chestnut Street to Spring Street, Locust Street from Church Street to Sycamore Street, Sycamore Street from Locust Street to Main Street, Linden Drive from Main Street to Poplar Street, East Rose Avenue from Main Street to Poplar Street, Walnut Street from Elm Street to Main Street, Arrowhead Drive, and Chestnut Street from Arrowhead to Oak St.
Milling work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. No parking signs will be posted by the contractor in project areas.
CHESTNUT STREET WILL BE CLOSED from the railroad crossing to Maple Street on Saturday, July 21, 2018 for base repair and resurfacing. A detour will be posted. Vehicular access to Arrowhead Drive and Acorn Circle may be impeded for a period of time. Please plan accordingly.
Traffic will be maintained, where possible, throughout the resurfacing project. Delays can be expected so allow extra time to reach your destination. Motorists should obey construction traffic signs and flaggers.

Sandra Drive Culvert Replacement
The replacement of the culvert under Sandra Drive was awarded to SmithCorp, Inc and is scheduled to begin June 18, 2018 and be completed by July 27, 2018, weather depending.
There will be no through traffic permitted for Sandra Drive.

Curb, Gutter, and Sidewalk Replacements
This project was awarded to Jackson Construction and will begin in early June 2018. Specific areas of the City were marked for replacement in conjunction with the current street resurfacing program. This work is scheduled to be completed prior to July 4, 2018.
CDBG Handicap Ramp Replacements
Each year the City applies for grant money through the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to replace handicap ramps throughout the City. This year’s contract was awarded to R.A. Miller Construction and should be completed in early June.

Miami University Project will close Patterson Avenue
Miami University is sponsoring a Gateway Project that will consist of installation of islands and pedestrian sanctuaries on Patterson Avenue between Chestnut St. and Western Drive. Following are maps for Miami’s detours for local traffic and for the truck route.
This project is scheduled to begin June 4, 2018 and last through August 22, 2018.
