City Engineer Victor Popescu, P.E., and his engineering team are constantly monitoring and analyzing the condition of the City’s infrastructure for areas in need of repair and/or upgrades.
The Engineering Division researches, investigates, and responds to citizen and City Council inquiries, prepares technical analyses, and provides municipal engineering advice pertaining to the design and construction of infrastructure improvements.
Engineering staff also prepares civil engineering design drawings and specifications and perform technical design reviews of plans and specifications prepared by contracted engineering firms for public infrastructure improvement projects.
The Engineering Division provides project management, field inspections, and general surveying for all publicly funded infrastructure improvement projects to ensure quality construction.
The Engineering Division assists the Community Development Department by providing engineering reviews of public infrastructure improvement plans to ensure that residential, commercial, and industrial developments follow city design standards. After final approval of developments, the Engineering Division conducts field inspections of the improvements to verify construction is proceeding with approved plans.
