Yard Waste Program Guidelines

Thursday, May 7, 2015

Oxford residents may dispose of brush and yard waste (no grass) at their curb side on normal refuse pick-up days free of charge.

Brush must be tied in bundles no longer than three feet in length and not heavier than 50 pounds.  Brush shall be tied with a natural fiber cord (cotton, linen, twine).  Brush tied with wire, plastic, or nylon cord will not be accepted.

Smaller yard waste items shall be put in paper bags and left open.  Yard waste placed in cans or plastic bags will not be accepted.  Place yard waste items separate from refuse.

Please limit yard waste to six (6) bundles or bags per pick up and place yard waste at the pick up site no later that 7:00 am on normal refuse days.

Grass clippings are not accepted through the City of Oxford Yard Waste Collection Program.  However, Rumpke Waste Removal will accept bagged grass clippings displaying appropriate stickers.  The bags and stickers can be purchased at local hardware stores.  Stickers may be purchased at the Municipal Building Utility Window.

Yard waste and brush pick up is scheduled as follows:

December/January/February:  First full week of the month on regular refuse pick up days.

March through November:  Every week on regular refuse pick up days.

Bundles of yard waste not conforming to specifications will not be picked up.  A tag will be left on the yard waste explaining why it was not collected.

Questions regarding this program should be directed to the Streets & Maintenance Division at 523-8412.
