The City of Oxford performs an annual leaf pick up program for residents during the fall season.
- Rake leaves into the gutter for pickup by City crews, except in areas where it could create a traffic hazards, such as the east side of College Avenue from Church Street to Chestnut Street. In this case, rake the leaves to the tree lawn (the area between the curb and sidewalk).
- In areas of heavy on street parking, rake leaves to a yellow “No Parking” zone for collection. Do not park on piles of leaves so that City crews may have access to them for collection.
- Do not put brush in leaf piles. Brush clogs the vacuum hose on the collection machine. Brush should be bundled and set out for regular curbside yard waste pickup.
