Parks and Facilities

Oxford residents can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and the grace of nature in our many community parks and facilities. Oxford is dedicated to the leisure pursuits of its residents. The parks and facilities listed are available for your enjoyment and use. For more information, call the Oxford Parks and Recreation Department: (513) 523-6314. Reservations for rentals are taken at the TRI Community Center, located at 6025 Fairfield Road, unless stated in the description.

TRI Community Center Complex

Located at 6025 Fairfield Road, it houses the Oxford Parks & Recreation Department. The TRI Center features basketball courts inside and out, baseball diamond, tennis courts, picnic shelter, outdoor grills, outdoor pool, skate park, a preschool playground, and a school-age play structure. 

Shelter Reservation Fees

Gymnasium Reservation Fees

$35/hour

The gym may be reserved throughout the year Monday through Friday, from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday’s 9–1 p.m. provided the date is available. Food and drinks are permitted in designated areas. Call 523-6314 for more information.

Skate Park

The park is located on the TRI Community Center Grounds and is free and open to the public, and is locked at night. It is unsupervised, and “skate at your own risk”, however, we will monitor to enforce the same rules which apply in all our facilities such as; no graffiti, profanity, drugs, or alcohol. Be certain to read the rules posted at the entry, but remember these important basics: Protective gear is highly recommended (helmets, knee, wrist, and elbow pads). Know your abilities and skate within them. The park was designed for skateboards and roller blades.

*No bicycles or scooters allowed.

Oxford Senior Citizens and Community Center

Center is located at 922 Tollgate Drive, and is ideal for family and social gatherings. The Great Room seats approximately 75 people and accommodates up to 125 people. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, stove and refrigerator. 

Reservation Hours

  • Tuesday-Friday — 5:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Saturday-Sunday — 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Reservation fees: $60/hour (Min. 2 hours)
  • Reservations must be made two weeks in advance. Fee is due upon reservation.

Memorial Tree Plaque

The City of Oxford is honored to provide an opportunity to our Citizens who wish to purchase a memorial tree in honor of a deceased loved one.

The trees available to purchase are:

  • Red Sunset Maple
  • Donald Wyman Crabapple
  • Eastern Redbud ~ currently unavailable

The name of the individual will be inscribed on a brass name plate and installed on the 30” by 24” cast bronze Memorial Tree Plaque, which is located at the Oxford Community Park by the flag pole.

Oxford Community Park

Located at 6801 Fairfield Road, park hours are 7 a.m. to dusk. The park features 113 acres including 4-lighted baseball/softball fields, playground, shuffle board courts, horseshoe pits, basketball courts, volleyball court, concession/shelter, bike and walking paths, soccer fields, natural areas and trail, and a Gazebo. Game equipment (horseshoes, shuffleboard,basketball) may be checked out at the Parks and Recreation Department (523-6314) or at the Community Park concession building during hours of operation.

Reserve-A-Field Program

Reserve one of the athletic fields for your upcoming special occasion. You can use the field to host a birthday party or other celebration. You also have the option to have field prepped with bases, batter’s boxes, chalked lines to play baseball, softball, kickball, or other games. Under the lights opportunities are also available. Several combinations are available and we are willing to work with you to customize your special day! Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the park grounds. All food and drinks need to be supplied by the participants. Grills are not permitted on park grounds. For reservations, contact 523-6314.

Leonard Howell Park

Located on Bonham Road, this 9 acre park features open green space and a picnic shelter with cooking grills.  Recreational trail access is available to the OATS Trail and Miami Natural Areas Trails from this park.

Inloes Park

Located at the corner of Contreras and Locust Streets, this neighborhood park features beautiful gardens maintained by the Des Fleurs Garden Club.

Northside Bark — A Gated Canine Community

The one-acre dog park is located at 5160 Morning Sun Road. The park is to be used as an off-leash area for Oxford dogs to play. 

Merry Day Park

Located off US 27 North on Reagh Way, this facility has a large playground and open play area. Open from 8 a.m. until dusk.

Robert M. Artz Park

This neighborhood park is located at the corner of Chestnut and Main Streets.

Uptown Parks

To reserve uptown parks call 524-5200.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park

Conveniently located on High Street in the uptown shopping district, it is a beautifully landscaped area in which to sit, frolic in the interactive Kyger Rader Fountain, and enjoy the uptown view.

Oxford Memorial Park

The Oxford Memorial Park is a common gathering place for community events. The John W. Altman Performance Pavilion is the host site for bands and choral groups, and is a nice shady place to relax. The park is home for the Summer Music Festival, held on Thursday evenings, June-August.

Oxford Municipal Pool

Reservations require a two week notice. Reservations may be made beginning April 1st and throughout the summer. Call (513) 523-6314 for more information.

Available Reservation Hours

  • June-July: Monday-Thursday, after 9:30 p.m. and Friday-Sunday after 8:30 p.m.
  • August: Monday-Sunday after 8:30 p.m.

Fees

Minimum 2 hr. rental

  • Resident: $50/hour, $11/hour/lifeguard
  • Non-Resident: $55/hour, $13/hour/ lifeguard

Pool Birthday Parties

Celebrate your child’s birthday with a private pool party at the Oxford Municipal Pool.

Reservations require a two week notice.

  • Saturdays and Sundays: 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Fees

  • Residents: $50(2-hr. rental included) + $11/hr. per lifeguard
  • Non-Resident: $55 (2-hr. rental included) + $13/hr. per lifeguard

Drones

At the present time operation of drones is permitted at Leonard Howell Park. Users must keep drones away from Bonham Road and adjacent properties. Drones/model air planes are not permitted at the Oxford Community Park due to the adjacent airport and are not permitted at any park during a special event or sports tournament.

Geocaching/Letterboxing

We welcome geocaching/letterboxing in our parks. We request that individuals notify and/or check with us before placing any items in the parks. For information: 523-6314.
