The City of Oxford is seeking dedicated individuals interested in positions as Part-Time Firefighter/EMT-P’s. 

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED; must be a citizen of the United States; must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record; hold a current Ohio Firefighter I Certification; hold a current Ohio EMT-Paramedic Certification. Shifts will be 12 hours in length.  Successful applicants will be limited to 1,500 work hours per year.  Candidates must be able to pass a physical agility test, background investigation, pre-employment physical, drug screen and polygraph examination.  Rate of pay is $12.00-$14.50/per hour depending on certification.  A part-time hire is not guaranteed future full-time employment. It is recommended you read the following document before applying: Before You Apply

Recreation Programs Coordinator – This is a part-time position (up to 30 hours per week).  The position assists the Recreation Programs Supervisor with supervising seasonal personnel and volunteers; plans, organizes, evaluates and implements programs and events that offer a safe and positive social and recreational interaction for all members of the Oxford area.  Purchase and organize supplies for all special events and programs.  Assist the Recreation Program Supervisor in raising additional funds for special events and programs; visit the schools weekly to promote upcoming programs, special events and sports programs.  Substitute in the department preschool program and assist with backup for registration area as needed.  High School graduate, prefer College degree (Recreation, Education, Natural Resources) or related field; valid driver’s license and 1 year experience planning, promoting & supervising of programs for children; or any combination of education, training, and work experience which provides the required skill sets to perform the essential functions of the job.  Applicant must be willing to be trained in First Aid/CPR and available to work a varied schedule to include week days, week nights and some holidays.  Salary: $10.00-$12.00/hour based on experience.  Open until filled.

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER/EMT

The City of Oxford is seeking dedicated individuals who live within five (5) minutes of the Central Fire Station (West Spring & South Elm), who would be interested in becoming Volunteer EMT’s or Firefighter/EMT’s.  This commitment would require 140 hours of training for EMT, and an additional 42 hours to become a Volunteer firefighter/EMT, as well as attending weekly training meetings and keeping up with State CEU requirements.  Successful applicants must be a High School graduate; not less than 18 years of age, possession of a valid state driver’s license; possess State of Ohio Emergency Medical Technician Basic certification and State of Ohio Volunteer Firefighter Certification if applying for Firefighter/EMT or ability to obtain.  Volunteers will be compensated $12.00/hr (rate varies according to certification).  It is recommended you read the following document before applying: Before You Apply
